This year we’re taking the Young Rabo Research Trip in an exciting new direction. Get ready for an inspiring journey to the land of pasta, pizza, gelato, Aperol, tiramisu …. ITALY
From Friday 9 October until Saturday 17 October 2026, a group of 38 Young Rabo members (including the Research Trip Committee and part of the Young Rabo Board) will set off together on an international road trip filled with learning, collaboration, and connection.
What makes this trip special?
The Research Trip is one of Young Rabo’s flagship experiences, and this year’s road trip format takes it to the next level. Traveling through multiple locations within and towards Italy allows us to fully immerse ourselves in the local context and make the most of every stop.
While the program is still being finalized, you can already look forward to:
During the trip, you will have the opportunity to:
Research topic
While our research focus is still taking shape, one thing is already clear: we’re heading into the dynamic world of leasing. Meet the Research Trip Committee 2026
Since we ask you to introduce yourself, we will be happy to do the same. We are the Research Trip Committee 2026, five motivated Young Rabo members who are working behind the scenes to make this trip a success:
Lisa Gehrels: I love exploring the world together! It doesn’t matter if it’s Texel or Tanzania, Rio or Rotterdam, I just enjoy going on adventures to new destinations with other people! Besides that, you can often find me and my friends on different terraces or bars in Amsterdam, where I enjoy a lovely refreshment or two in combination with a bitterbal :). I can’t wait to go on this Research Trip together!!
Senne Aarssen: Living just 10 minutes from the Croeselaan office means my commute is an easy bike ride—one of my favourite ways to start the day. In my spare time you’ll most likely find me in my garden. This year I took it to the next level with a 250 m² allotment plot (volkstuintje) where I happily grow all kinds of vegetables (and spend way more time than planned). If I’m not digging in the soil, I’m probably on the road in my camper, often with my cat tagging along for the adventure. I can’t wait to get to know all of you better and take on this journey together!
Evelien Bosboom: Living on the lovely east side of the Netherlands means I am basically always on the move (Utrecht isn’t exactly around the corner). And if you really know me… you will know I have been trying (emphasis on trying) to cut down on carbs this year. But if you really really know me, you also know I would happily wake up at any hour for pizza, pasta, and anything with an Italian twist! So one thing’s for sure: I absolutely look forward to go on this trip together!
Siebe Schootstra: I have been living in Amsterdam for the past three years, but I grew up in the beautiful region of Friesland. I enjoy adventure and like to stay active, both through sports and by doing fun activities. Alongside my social life, I really enjoy my work, where I get to engage with a wide variety of business models on a daily basis – something I am quite passionate about. In addition, I have a strong interest in financial markets. This is also why I feel right at home in the role of treasurer within this committee.
Robin de Ruiter: After living in Utrecht and Amsterdam for the last 10 years, I recently moved back to Breda and bought a newly built home. I love long dinners, and everything around good food and gezelligheid. Italy is my favorite holiday destination, so I’m really happy with this location. After my last trip to Italy, I even bought a pasta machine because I enjoy cooking so much. Together with the amazing people in this committee, we’ve put together a fantastic program for you all, I’m really looking forward to it!
